JOSH L. STARR
When I was younger, my dream was to be a professional athlete. Once I realized that was not going to happen, I still had a desire to be part of the sports world in some way. This made me think about all the things I loved about sports, the players, the action and the sounds of the game. Right before high school began, I decided becoming a sports broadcaster was something I could do as a career in the sports industry. When high school began I started planning how to start my broadcasting career. This is where my announcing skills began to develop. I started calling public address for basketball and lacrosse games, but it wasn’t until Penn State that I realized how much I loved play-by-play broadcasting. Through Penn State and CommRadio, I have gained many opportunities that have allowed me to continue to develop my broadcasting skills. With this experience, I plan to keep developing and working at my craft to achieve my goal of becoming a professional broadcaster.
